Another fine addition to our Moms Web Directory:

Jaydnb offers designer fashion accessories for boy and girl toddlers. Their unique selection includes preppy/’blingy” ribbon belts for both boys and girls, unique hair bands, non-slip hair clips, mommy and me matching aprons plus picture frames to capture all those special moments.

One of my favorites is the Mommy and Me apron collection. For less then $40 you and your little chef helper will enjoy preparing meals together as a team.

Site Offers Advice and Ideas for Saving Money

September 22, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

Miserly Moms was created by Jonni McCoy when she left the daily grind of her day job to spend more time at home with her children. She had been contributing 50% of their family income and giving that up in the expensive San Francisco area was a shock to their budget and the motivation behind the desire to find ways to stretch their dollars.

You’ll find hundreds of money saving tips in the Miserly Tips section and in her popular books found in the Miserly Moms Bookstore. There’s also a section with articles submitted by third parties that are only published if helpful to moms seeking financial tips.

Cool Mom by Daphne

Daphne Brogdon (a TV host, standup comic, and a mom) has a great site for moms entitled, ‘Cool Mom‘ . Her site is chock full of always-entertaining short videos about her views on various mom-topics. Her lighthearted and opinionated commentary is refreshing. Every mom has a unique set of motherhood experiences and Daphne hits the nail on the head more often then not, … at least in my opinion.

Keep Track of Local Crimes and Sex Offenders

August 6, 2008 by MOM · 1 Comment

Every so often a new tool or resource made available via the internet comes along to help offset all of the garbage that has become so pervasive online. Crime Reports is worth using and sharing with other moms and neighbors!

This new tool alerts you to all of the crimes reported in a radius from 1/4 mile to 5 miles around the address you enter into the search engine. Obviously you should check your area and then maybe check out your parent’s neighborhood to either relieve your concerns or confirm they’re warranted. Be sure to check the little box to include sex offender’s registered addresses so they show up along with all of the crimes reported.

All you need to do is register, it’s free, and enter in your address. Then choose the radius around your home that you want to check out. It’s as easy as using Mapquest or Google maps. If your local law enforcement is not using this great tool yet please refer them to the link below.

To check it out before registering visit their Website at: Crime Reports

Refer your local law enforcement agency to this link: Law Enforcement

Here’s why the Utah based company, Public Engines, Inc., put together this great tool for us dads and law enforcement:

CrimeReports.com was created to help law enforcement agencies put crime data in the hands of those who care about it most—citizens. While crime statistics in a specific city may be available, they may not be accessible. CrimeReports.com standardizes the way law enforcement agencies communicate crime data to the public, down to the specific neighborhood or block they live on.”

Marketing to Moms Just Got Easier

August 5, 2008 by MOM · 1 Comment

We’ve come across hundreds of moms with Websites that are eager to earn extra money through affiliate programs or by selling advertising space to companies whose ads targets moms. The problem has been that the mom community is so spread out that advertisers and ad agencies haven’t found an efficient way to market to moms through small to mid-sized Websites. We’re changing that!

Momz is pleased to announce two new ad networks for mom-centric Websites: Momz and The Mother Hood

Momz Ad Network is for mom sites that are less about about personal life stories and more about news, information and resources for moms.

The Mother Hood Ad Network is for ALL sites run by moms, intended for moms, and of course about moms.

Whether you own a mom site or want to promote your business to thousands of moms, to get started just register here: (It’s totally free to register and free for publishers with mom-centric sites)

Lavinia Lingerie

July 31, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

One thing I find really wonderful about the Internet is the ability to shop for items that I just don’t feel comfortable shopping for in public. Like lingerie. The newest site in our directory is online lingerie retailer Lavinia Lingerie in New York.

They offer beautiful lingerie and other women’s clothing and they make shopping a pleasure and a breeze. Whether you need a plus size bra, a unique pair of panties, accessories that just aren’t available at the nearby WalMart, or a gorgeous camisole like the one pictured, you’ll find it at Lavinia’s.

Raising Twins From Pregnancy On

July 28, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

Kimberley Becker has four kids and somehow has found the time to put together a fantastic online resource for parents of twins. Her youngest children are fraternal twins, a boy and a girl, and Kimberley has learned and documented what she has learned for the benefit of anyone who is pregnant with twins or has already begun their journey as a parent of twins.

Her Website, Raising Twins, covers topics most parents of twins will be interested like, what to expect during pregnancy, what’s unique about breastfeeding twin babies, how to make the most of the very special first year with twins, and the toddler years and how potty training is different with twins, and all sorts of other stories only a mother of twins can describe so colorfully.

One of my favorite posts on her Website is “Top 15 Stupid Things People Say to Parents Of Twins

The #3 dumbest thing is: “What do you do when they both cry at the same time?” (Sometimes I cry. Sometimes I go to Starbucks.)

The #2 dumbest thing is: Said to a mom of boy/girl twins: “Are they identical?” (Uh. Not exactly.)

The #1 dumbest thing is: You’ll just have to get the #1 dumbest thing said to a mom of twins and #’s 4 through #15 by visiting her Website at: Raising Twins. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did!

Twin Pregnancy and Beyond

July 25, 2008 by MOM · 1 Comment

Kellie added her great site about twins to our directory of Websites for moms today! If you have twins you’ll appreciate the volume of information her site has made available for those who haven’t yet lived the experience. If you’re pregnant with twins you’re in luck because you’ve just discovered a great resource for mothers of twins.

The site has great information on everything that’s going to cross your mind once you’ve learned that you’re pregnant with twins and probably many things you would not have thought of while preparing for twins. For starters you will need to think about naming your twins and this is more then twice as hard as naming one child! The site has a Twin Baby Names section of articles to assist you.

For you moms and dads with twins you will find the Dad of Twins and Parenting Twins very interesting and helpful. Be sure to send in your pics for the Twin Belly Gallery!
