Installing Husband 1.0

November 24, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as: NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0, and Ipod with headphones 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail. What can I do?

Signed,

DESPERATE

DEAR DESPERATE,

First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command:  ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta. Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend: Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Mom Loses Hands and Feet Due to Hospital Mistake

November 22, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

Tabitha Mullings was a vibrant young NYC mother who went to a Brooklyn hospital for what she thought was a kidney stone. She wound up leaving without her hands and feet because of what her lawyers call a “medical mistake.”

After being treated for a kidney stone she was sent home only to be returned the next day after a bad infection had caused her circulation to stop delivering blood to her extremities. By the time doctors finished fighting off the infection gangrene had set in and her feet and both hands had to be amputated. She also lost some of her vision to compound the tragedy.

Admirably Ms Mullings says she isn’t angry, but rather “disappointed”.

“It’s not anger, it’s just a disappointment, and I don’t want this to happen to anybody else. That’s why I’m coming out with this now. It’s just a disappointment,” she said. “I don’t sleep as good, but I do have my nights. It’s a struggle, it is a struggle.”

Last Friday, Ms Mullings was moved to a rehab center where she will be fitted with prosthetic hands and feet which she’ll have to learn to use.

“My goal is to walk out of this hospital with my hands and my legs, walk out of here before Christmas so I can spend it with my beautiful children and family. And that’s my determination,” an emotional Mullings said as she left the hospital.

Christmas Spending Plans Drop to New Low

November 21, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or Alan Greenspan to know that this Christmas sales will be off this holiday season. Pessimism is rampant and hopefully as irrational as the irrational exuberance period was during the dot com boom. People are hunkering down and saving whatever cash they have.

A recent Gallop Poll measuring Christmas spending plans recorded it’s lowest level since they began the poll 10 years ago: Christmas Spending Poll

The $616 average in this years poll is way down from last years $866. But, looking at it from the bright side that’s still alot money that should help keep the kids happy. Just be sure to spend a lot of time playing games, and doing things with your family that everyone can enjoy together and the kids won’t even know that finances are tight.

One other thing to keep in mind as you choose which companies you are going to “spread the wealth around” to is that there are thousands of moms trying very hard to bring in extra income through their Websites and e-commerce sites. Why not shop online at mom-owned sites to help one another out? One place you can find a number of mom-owned businesses is at our WAHM Shopping Mall Website. It’s a site that allows WAHMs to add their banner ads at no cost to help drive traffic.

No matter what your circumstances are please enjoy your holidays and have a Merry Christmas season.

How and Why Labor is Induced

We discovered a great post in a medical forum that breaks down the pros and cons of various methods used to induce labor.  The post by “Medical Geek Resident” is thorough and doesn’t appear to be biased in favor of or against any of the methods used by doctors when inducing labor.

Hollywoods Hottest Tots

November 20, 2008 by MOM · Leave a Comment

All tots are adorable (outside of temper-tantrum time) and the toddlers of the famous are no exception. Forbes.com has complied a list of the “Hollywood’s 10 Hottest Tots“.

The most popular tot according to Forbes.com is Suri Cruise, the 2-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

Forbes.com ranked the celebrity tots (5 yrs and younger) based on media attention and their parents’ popularity. Suri Cruise, well known for her stylish outfits and haircut appeared in more news articles and blogs than her tot peers.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s had three of their six children make the list: Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 2, is in second place after coming in first last year; Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 3, is in third place; and Pax Jolie-Pitt, 4, is fourth on the list.

The other top 10 Hollywood tots were: Sam Alexis Woods, daughter of Tiger Woods and his wife Elin; Cruz Beckham, son of David and Victoria Beckham; Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger; David Banda, son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie; Sean Preston Federline, son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline; and Sam Sheen, daughter of Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen.

While it’s not clear that this attention and constant battle with the paparazzi will ultimately be a good or harmful thing for these cuties as they mature, it is clear that these tots, like our tots, are adorable.
